At Orono Rink, our hockey program has grown beyond expectation, with over 700 skaters making use of a single sheet of ice in our vibrant community. Additionally, the neighboring arena at Pond is in desperate need of an upgrade, as it has surpassed its intended lifespan. This shortage of ice availability will soon become even more apparent. These are only a few of the reasons why it is crucial for us to plan for the future now.

the design – a legacy build
The vision and goal of Orono Rink is one that will create a legacy for generations to come. The design connects the arenas with a grand foyer to create community through social gathering areas, concession stands, and a 4,500 sq ft new dryland facility with shooting lanes. In this rendering, the new sheet of ice becomes the premier rink for Orono games. Seating will increase to hold 800 visitors. New locker rooms are found between the two sheets and service both arenas. This makes the new addition a state-of-the-art facility that many other associations will try to emulate.
